Our beloved mother, Maria Alenia Heath, 71, passed away May 22, 2026 in Amarillo, Texas. Celebration of Life services are at 10:00 AM Friday May 29, 2026 at Briarwood Church, 1800 W Harvester in Pampa, TX with Pastor Jamisen Hancock officiating.
Born June 15, 1954, in Amarillo, Texas to Delta Marjorie Eason, Maria devoted her life to caring for others — her family, her patients, her church family, and countless people she met along the way. She had a gift for making friends everywhere she went and a way of making people feel comfortable, cared for, and important.
She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Siirtola and husband Nathan of Pampa, Texas, and Casey Asplof of Amarillo, Texas; and her five beloved granddaughters, Grayce and Kennadii Asplof, and Lily, Rylee, and Trinity Siirtola.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd W. Heath, with whom she shared 18½ wonderful years of marriage.
When her daughters were young, Maria worked in the cafeteria at Forest Hill Elementary, where she loved not only seeing her own girls each day, but also making sure every child had breakfast and lunch. She volunteered often in her daughters’ classrooms and treasured being involved in their lives and school activities.
As her children grew older, Maria began a long career at BSA Hospital. She worked in the cafeteria and later in Physicians Dining, where she enjoyed getting to know doctors and surgeons personally. She eventually became a patient transporter, where families often found comfort in her reassuring words before surgery: “This is not goodbye, just see you later.” Later, she became an Anesthesia Tech and loved sharing funny stories about her experiences and the people she worked alongside throughout the years.
Maria later worked for podiatrist Dr. Bryan Bullard, where she became passionate about foot care and was always quick to remind people, “You only get one pair, so take care of the pair you've got.” She especially enjoyed visiting patients in nursing homes when they could no longer travel to appointments.
While working at BSA, Maria met the love of her life, Lloyd Heath. The two were married on June 7, 2002, in Amarillo, Texas. Together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and treasured time spent with their grandchildren until Lloyd’s passing in 2021.
Maria loved crafts, especially diamond art, and cherished her visits with pastors Will Howell, Tim Dudley, and Jamisen Hancock. She faithfully attended Briarwood Church in Pampa, Texas, until moving to the nursing home, where she continued watching services online every Sunday.
Her family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care she received from the staff at Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, as well as Fresenius Kidney Care and U.S. Renal Care.
More than anything, Maria will be remembered for her kindness, her servant’s heart, her humor, and the genuine love she gave so freely to everyone around her.
