Together they travelled to Chicago, Ill. where Marian worked at the Art Institute of Chicago while her husband studied to receive his degree there. After moving to Texas in 1957, they made Amarillo their hometown for life.
Marian enjoyed church activities and was always involved in sharing her faith and love of Jesus with the people around her. She and Sax joined First Baptist Church in 1981 where they sang in the chapel choir and served on various committees. At age 85, Marian initiated and led "Hemmed in Prayer", a ministry of sewing to provide clothing for children in third world countries. With a special calling and heart for missions, she and Sax participated in many mission trips to countries around the world.
