Marie Griggs

Marie Griggs, 83, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday August 24, 2024. Graveside Services will be 10:00 AM Friday August 30, 2024 at Llano Cemetery, with Pastor Greg Corona officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Marie was born on March 28, 1941 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Alvie and Pauline Golden. She graduated from Pampa High School and soon made Amarillo her home. In her younger days, Marie enjoyed bowling with her husband, Dennis at western bowl. They both were members of bowling leagues throughout their marriage. She enjoyed playing games with her friends as well.

Marie was owner alongside her husband of Denny’s Upholstery for over 20 years and worked for AISD at Paramount Terrace until she retired.  Marie was an avid QVC shopper and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was loved deeply by her family and will be missed.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis Griggs; one great grandson Jaxon Griggs.

Survivors include her son, Jay Griggs and wife Christy of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Joshua Griggs (Sarah), Anna Berry (Dalton), Stephanie Millis, and Ali Epps (Taylor); eleven great grandchildren, Harper, Shep, Lawson, Mackenzie, Oaklynn, Finlee, Emerson, Elliott, Hazel, Canaan and one on the way, Seager. Survivors also include her sister in law, Susie Hall of Pampa and her two nieces, Evonne Hartzell and Devora Griggs.

The family would like to extend their love and gratitude to the staff at Plum Creek Assisted Living and Enhabit Hospice for the care they provided to Marie.
