Marie Winters

Marie was born on November 18, 1939 in Amarillo to W.N. and Gladys Lacy. She lived in Amarillo most of her life, graduating from Amarillo High School in 1958. She married Richard Winters on January 19, 1958 and the two of them then moved to Wildorado, where they farmed from 1958-1981. In 1981, they returned to Amarillo and Marie worked for Caryn's Hallmark and House Plants of Amarillo. In her spare time, Marie enjoyed gardening and working in her yard as well as cooking and entertaining with family and friends. She was a very involved mother, participating in PTA, the school band and anything her children were involved in. She is survived by her husband, Richard Winters; daughter, Beverly Signor and husband Donald, all of Amarillo; son, Robert Winters and wife Ronda of Fort Worth; brother, James Lacy of Bellevue, WA; 2 sisters, Joyce Koontz of Amarillo and Lillian Carnahan and husband Jay of Johnstown, CO; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kevin, Stephen, Renee and Andrew; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Helen Jones and brother, Dory Lacy In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Arden Road Baptist Church or the charity of one's choice.
