Marissa Garza

Marissa Garza, 24, of Amarillo passed away on Monday May 15, 2023. Funeral Mass services will be held Friday May 19, 2023 at 2:00PM at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 2300 N. Spring St. with Fr. officiating. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00PM Thursday May 18, 2023, at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Marissa was born November 12, 1998 in Amarillo to Melissa and Odie Joe Garza Sr. She grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 2016. She worked for the US Postal Service. Marissa was a sweet, kind and loving person, who always put others before herself. She was a bubbly and beautiful person. Marissa loved watching horror movies and going to Starbucks. She was an excellent baker and enjoyed shopping and doing hair. Marissa loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephew. She was a true joy to be around and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Marissa is preceded in death by her father Odie Joe Garza Sr.; her son, Grayson Ray Burrier; her cousin, Savannah Zepeda; her Grandpa, Otie Lucero; her uncle, Jose Lucero; and her grandma Marylou McGee.

Survivors include her spouse Andrew Burrier of Amarillo; her mother, Melissa Garza of Amarillo; two brothers; Odie Joe Garza Jr. and Ivan Joe Garza, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Mariah Garza (Richard Loera) of Amarillo, and Khloe Garza; her grandma, Norma Lucero; her grandparents, Gabriel Garza and Michelle Pena; her only nephew, Zayn, and five nieces, Alayna, Avalynn, Allyanna, Analaya, and Arianna.
