Mark Gayland Sells

On April 16, 2021, surrounded by his family, Mark Gayland Sells of Canyon, TX, was welcomed into his forever home by our loving Lord. He was 63 years old. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at Central Church of Christ Chapel, Amarillo TX. Mark was raised in Borger, TX, by his loving parents, LJ and Maxine Sells. He graduated from Borger High School and continued his education at West Texas State University. Mark worked most of his adult life at Borger Redi-Mix and Golden Spread Redi-Mix. Mark loved music and was an avid fan of anything pertaining to guitars and playing the guitar. He enjoyed "jamming" with his friends and especially with his son, Charlie. When not making music, Mark was doing woodworking and forging projects and creating simple-to-gourmet meals for family and friends. He enjoyed and took pride in landscaping and maintaining a beautiful yard. Mark was a history buff and many of his projects and hobbies centered around historical events and landmarks. Mark was "Dad" to five children and had eight grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He was a source of inspiration, support, and spiritual guidance, encouraging them to obtain their individual dreams and to be all that God intended for them. His presence in their lives will be sorely missed. Mark met his wife, Rashele, in early 2018, while attending the same Bible study class. Married on June 20, 2020, they had only a short ten months together; however, it was a marriage steeped in love for each other, God, and their blended family. A void has been left in her heart, as well in the hearts of his children loved ones, and friends. Yet, for the time he was here, joy was added to the world. The blessings of goodness and joy that come from his being among us will last as long as memory remains for those who knew and loved him. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, LJ and Maxine Sells and a sister-in-law, Janet Sells. He is survived by his twin brother, Kent, of Amarillo TX and his sister, Renea Ugarte and husband Marc, of Glendora, CA. Five children: Nathan Sells and wife, Amanda of Lubbock, TX; Jade Byars and Geoff Rockne of Lubbock, TX; Mika Sells and Dallas Ledford of Borger, TX; Landon Sells and wife, Amber, of Borger, TX; and Charlie Sells of Amarillo, TX. Eight grandchildren: Fiona; Brixton; Dakota; Dominik, Isla; Nathaniel; Bexley; and Boston. Two nieces: Natalie Wilson and Erica Shelton.
