Mark Alan Young

Mark was born on May 21, 1964 in Fort Rucker, Alabama to Jim and Linda Young. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in Lawton, OK in 1982 before moving to Amarillo in 1989. Here, he obtained his Associate's Degree in Aircraft Maintenance and worked for Howell Sand and Gravel prior to his employment with Beaver Express, where he currently worked as a truck driver for many years. Mark was known to be a daredevil, living each day to the fullest and without regret. He enjoyed high performance vehicles, especially motorcycles and had a full collection of Japanese swords. Most of all, Mark was generous and giving to anyone in need. Many of the things Mark did went unannounced and unrecognized, but he continued to help others even to a fault. He loved to play pool and darts with his many friends and family and will be missed deeply by all who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Linda Young, brother, Richard Young and wife Linda L. of Amarillo; sister, Laura Hodnett and husband Daniel of Fort Worth; aunt, Ann Wasson of Amarillo; uncle, Dale Young of McKinney and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly. The family requests that funeral attenders wear casual clothing to the service in Mark's Honor.
