Martha was born on December 27, 1937, in Encino, New Mexico to Cayetano and Anita Lucero.

She was known for her loving servant’s heart. Throughout life’s adversities, she continued to be a woman of strong faith who fervently prayed for her loved ones, friends, and anyone she felt needed a touch from God.

To her family, she was a Mighty Prayer Warrior. She loved generously and forgave quickly. Her walk with God was unwavering, always trusting God would work everything out. (Ephesians 1.11, Romans 8.28). Her desire was that all her children, grandchildren and loved ones would experience a close relationship with Jesus Christ, walking in His abundant peace and joy.

Her favorite pastime was reading her Bible, which her children and grandchildren often found her doing. She instilled in each of them, the importance of beginning each day reading daily from the Word of God and with prayer. She believed God heard and answered every prayer. (Psalms 145:18)

Martha enjoyed watching classic movies with Elvis or Elizabeth Taylor.  Old westerns with Clint Eastwood were her favorite.

She is preceded in death by her parents C.A. and Anita Lucero, brothers C.D., Florentino, Querino, a sister, Dora Tafoya, a dear brother-n-law Roberto Gauna, and her beloved sons Page Short and Daniel Sisneros.
