Mary Jo Martellaro

October 2, 1936 — January 21, 2016

Mary Jo Martellaro was born on October 2, 1936 to Tony and Mary Danna, in Pueblo, CO where she was raised with her sister, Nina, and her two brothers, Phil and Jim. In 1957 at the age of 21, she married Joe Martellaro. Four years later in 1961, she adopted her son, Michael Sr. Mary Jo lived in La Junta, CO, Keller, TX, and twice in Amarillo, TX where she ended up settling down permanently. Her home was always welcoming and people were always drawn to her humor, her food, the ambiance of the flowers and music around the house, and her passion for her family and life in general. Mary Jo would spend her days writing beautiful poetry, entertaining family and friends, and keeping herself busy with household chores. She prayed to St. Jude daily. Mary Jo was a beautiful woman in every way possible. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Mary Danna; Two brothers, Phil Danna and Jim Danna; and sister Nina Glaubensklee. Survivors include her son Michael Martellaro Sr. and his wife Donna. Nieces: Marilyn Glaubensklee, Carolyn Glaubensklee and husband Bob Smith. Grandson: Michael Martellaro Jr. and wife Cassidy, Granddaughters: Heather Martellaro, Jennifer McCoy and husband Frank Sr., Theresa Angel, and Melissa Angel and her fiancé Matthew; Great-grandchildren, Frank Jr., George, Jordan, Jermiah, Rylee and Kollyn and many lifelong friends and neighbors. Mary Jo would want a last message shared. "D.Y., J!"
