Mary Lee Snell, 86, of Amarillo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025. A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Cox-Rowley Funeral home, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Pastor Charles Yeager officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Born on June 25, 1938, in Shattuck, Oklahoma, Mary Lee was the daughter of Allen and Opal Herring. She spent much of her career as a radio dispatcher for the Oldham County Sheriff's Office in Vega, where she served with dedication until her retirement at the age of 68. Mary Lee also worked as a waitress and manager at the Tascosa Country Club's Terrace Room, where she made lasting connections with both colleagues and guests. Throughout her life, she remained deeply devoted to her faith, as a member of HIS Church in Amarillo, living out her Christian values every day.

Mary Lee was a woman of many interests. Her love for playing basketball remained strong until the age of 42, and she enjoyed dancing, especially country and western styles. Above all, she cherished time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren were the heart of her world, and she was a constant presence in their lives, offering wisdom, humor, and love. Mary Lee also had a surprising talent for navigating social media, much to the delight of her grandchildren.

A true fan of sports, Mary Lee enjoyed watching Dallas Cowboy football and Texas Tech basketball, finding joy in the excitement of the games. Her infectious spirit and kind heart left an impression on everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mary Lee was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son and her sisters, Barbara, Betty and Brenda.

She is survived by her son, Levi Snell and his wife Chrissy of Amarillo; her daughters, Dana Sides of Canyon and Tracy Milder and her husband Jonathan of Santa Maria, California; four grandchildren, Keshia Babitzke and her husband Jason, Shannon Sides and his wife Shawna, Ashleigh Snell and her husband Justin Bradley, and Jace Levi Snell; five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brynen, Kenzlie, Maverick, and Avaleigh; and one great-great-granddaughter, Bristol.

Mary Lee's legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on through her family and friends.
