Matthew "Matt" Wayne Davis

Matthew Wayne Davis was born to Roger C. Davis and Valeria Millsap Davis in Hereford, Texas on July 5, 1968. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 in Hereford at Barn Church, 3948 FM 1057.  He lived in Dimmitt, Texas on the family farm where he loved to ride motorcycles with his dad and hunt for coyotes. Matt attended Dimmitt Public schools where he graduated in 1986. Matt married Rena Burnett August 17, 1990 at the First Baptist Church in Dimmitt Texas. They lived in Dimmitt where Matt worked on the family farm. They had one daughter Maegan Renae on May 8, 1995. Matt’s life was easily characterized by his many loves. He loved the land, fast cars, cruising on the lake in his boat, music, family and good friends. He had a heart for all of God’s creations, especially animals. Matt was a special friend for many; loyal, kind and compassionate. He met people with a warm smile and genuine embrace. Matt will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Davis. Matt is survived by his mom, Valeria; his daughter, Maegan and boyfriend John O’Brian; and a special friend Tiffany. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019 in the meeting room at First United Bank in Dimmitt, Texas.
