Mattie Lou Carter

Mattie Lou Carter, 89 of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, after a long-suffering of dementia and Alzheimer's. No services are scheduled at this time. arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Mattie was born in Waverly, TN, and moved to Amarillo in the '60s. She loved to read, cook for her family, and dance.

Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Maltie Buchanan, her sons, Jerry Buchanan, Kenneth Carson, and Lin Buchanan. Survivors include a son Gene Buchanan of Amarillo, a daughter Jennifer Stagner of Amarillo, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
