M.E. "Ed" Stephens

January 29, 1939 — May 17, 2017

Ed was born January 29, 1939 in Shamrock to William Aubrey and Mary Lois Stephens. He graduated from Palo Duro High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964, and was stationed in Germany. Ed was a food broker for Morehead Foods. He spent a few years in Snyder working at Price Bros Construction. After moving back to Amarillo, he worked for Walmart until his retirement. Ed enjoyed playing golf and watching football. He loved going to all his grandkids games and events. He adored his dog, Fannie Mae. They enjoyed long walks together. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Stephens of Amarillo; a son Chris Stephens and wife Mary Ann of Amarillo; two step-sons, Bryan Cordova and wife Judy of Amarillo, and Barry Cordova of Canyon; a step-daughter, Sherrill Wallace of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Mary Ann Price and husband Randy of Kennewick, WA, and Patti Mason and husband Scott of Bartlesville, OK; and eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Tom Stephens. The family suggests memorials be made to Washington St. Family Service Center, 4002 S. Washington St. #A, Amarillo, TX 79110.
