Michael Howard Gilliam

Michael Gilliam, 64 of Amarillo passed away Friday, September 11, 2020. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive with Chaplain Mike Wilhelm officiating. Mike was born December 2, 1955, in Cheyenne Wyoming to Richard and June Gilliam. He graduated from Hirschi High School in Wichita Falls in 1974. While in high school Mike met his sweetheart Cheree Fulkerson and they married on May 31, 1974. Mike and Cheree spent 46 wonderful years together. Mike loved motorcycles and was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He was a computer wiz and enjoyed working on and repairing computers for his family and friends. Mike could often be found building computers for his family. He loved photography and looking back at old photos filled with memories. Mike was witty, smart and always gave you a straight answer. Mike loved his family and especially his grandchildren who called him “grandfather”. Mike was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Cheree; son, Jerod Gilliam and wife Maribel; grandson, Matthew Chase Gilliam and his mother Shannon Mullins; granddaughter, Makatelyn Gilliam and her mother Carla Gonzalez all of Amarillo.
