Michael J. “Mike” Collins, 76, of Amarillo passed away Friday, May 15, 2020. No services are scheduled at this time. Mike was born May 5, 1944 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Joseph and Esther Collins. His family moved to Texas when Mike was a baby. He worked in sales as a grocery broker for 38 years. He married his wife Jane Taylor on September 30, 1998. Mike was a very active member of Washington Avenue Christian Church where he served as a deacon for a while and also in the church’s Family Service Center Outreach. He enjoyed carpentry and had his own construction business for several years. He always greeted you with a smile and enjoyed joking with everyone. He loved cooking out, listening to music and would often be singing along. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Donna Collins.  Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Mead and husband Billy of Lane, OK, Teresa Chmielowiec and husband Kevin of  Canyon;  two sons, Larry Keidel of Amarillo, and Michael Collins of Huntsville, TX; two step-daughters, Mel Tucker and wife Bethany of Amarillo, Martha Whitecotton and husband Dan of Charlotte, NC; a step-son, Tony Taylor of Amarillo; a brother, Pat Collins and wife Barbara of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters, Sasha Davis, Shelly Goodwin, Alyssa Chmielowiec, Brittany Keidel, Bayley Keidel, Haley Taylor, Lauren Whitecotton; grandsons, Josh Lucas, Colton Mead, Darrell Milum, Ronnie Milum, Aaron Collins, River Rayne, Zach Molden, Derek Taylor, Blake Taylor, Aaron Whitecotton; and 31 great-grandchildren.
