Michael David Powell

Michael David Powell was born in Amarillo, TX, on June 1, 1980, to Edward and Terri Powell. He went into the arms of his Lord and Savior on July 23, 2018 at the age of 38. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1998 and worked for Wal-Mart from December 1998 to December 2015. Michael married Tiffany Reid on October 13, 2006, and became a second dad to Zeek and Cielo. They had 2 children together, Xander and Ever. He had a great sense of humor even through his struggles with health over the last few years. He loved Jesus and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church in Amarillo with Scott Higginbotham officiating. Arrangements were made by Cox Funeral Home. Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother, Thelma Powell, grandfather Alvin Alexander, uncles Phillip & Don Hightower, cousins Dale & Shannon Hightower, and others. He is survived by his son Alexander and daughter Airelynn of the home, Zeek &- Cielo Sanchez of Canadian, his parents, sister Amanda Gay and husband Michael of Amarillo, sister Tabitha Rippetoe and husband Max of Amarillo, nieces and nephews Christina, Eddie, Savannah, Jessica, Skylar, Reggie, and Jennifer all of Amarillo, grandmother Cherry Alexander of Pampa, uncle Steve Alexander and wife Vigdis of Pampa, uncle David and wife Kathy of Warsaw, MO, several cousins and extended family, and many friends. The family requests memorials be made to Temple Baptist Church Children's Ministry or CareNet of Amarillo.
