Michael, known as Angelo to his family, was born on November 6, 1999 in Tucson, AZ. He moved to Amarillo as a child, where he attended Ridgecrest Elementary, Bonham Middle School and was currently a junior at Tascosa High School. Throughout his childhood, Michael played football in middle school and was a wrestler at Tascosa High School. He enjoyed running, admiring cars and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Michael was known to be a generous and caring person, someone who cared for his neighbors and was helpful to others. He was well mannered and polite. He was always playing jokes and had something funny to say. He loved making others smile and laugh. Most importantly, Michael was a Christian and was not ashamed to share the gospel with others.
He is survived by his parents, Tony and Joanne Ascensio; siblings, Michael Ramirez Jr., Christiana Ramirez, Felicity Ascensio, Emory Ascensio, all of Amarillo and Jocelyn Ascensio of San Antonio; grandparents, Christine Dayton and husband Johnny of Myrtle Point, OR., Manuel and Gloria Fierros of Lockney and many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Lamar Smith.
