Michael Smith

Michael Smith, 60, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021. Arrangements are being handled by Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Michael was born in Amarillo on November 21, 1960, to Ray Eugene and Jenelle Smith. He was a Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army.

Michael was a mechanic the majority of his life. He had a great love for life and thoroughly enjoyed the great outdoors, his biggest passion being fishing. He greatly detested chicken, or “yard bird” as he called it. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his wife Martha Smith.

Survivors include his parents, Gene and Jenelle Smith of Amarillo; two daughters, Traycee Persons and husband Tolk and Tiffany Coto all of Amarillo; one sister, Jeannine Bellinghausen and husband Alan of Amarillo; one brother Kenny Smith and wife Aracely of Del Rio; four grandchildren, Celese, Christopher, Ayden and Fletcher. Survivors also include a host of nieces and nephews.
