Michele Smith

Michele Smith, 66, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday January 01, 2023. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 PM Thursday January 12, 2023 at Grace Church of Amarillo, 4111 Plains Blvd. with Pastor Bill Gehm officiating. Michele was born on October 31, 1956 in Dallas, to Clyde and Rose Barron. Michele worked as an insurance agent and a consultant for 20 years and was the owner and manager of the Picketwire Lodge and Store in Stonewall, Colorado for over 21 years. She was also the president of Insurance Women of Amarillo Society. Michele was a dedicated member of Grace Church for several years, teaching bible and Sunday school to children. Michele was an active member of Prairie Bible Church and a Mentor and leader of the Awana Club at Fisher’s Peak Community Church, while living in Trinidad, Colorado. She was also heavily involved in the Amarillo Children’s Home during Christmas time each year. Michele was devoted to raising her son, Caleb. She was a loving and caring mother, who was always there for her son. Michele was loved by many and will be missed.

Michele was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Steve Beattie; her second husband, Dallas Smith; one brother, Russell Barron and one nephew, Jason Carter.

Survivors include her son, Dallas Caleb Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one step brother, Terry Shannon of San Angelo; one step sister, Kelly Shannon (Francis) also of San Angelo; Brother in law, Richard Smith; adopted parents, George and Ann Beattie of Colorado Springs, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews.
