Mildred "Millie" R. Darnell

Mildred was born on March 23, 1933 in Houston. She married Richard Darnell in 1946 in Longview. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2002. She moved to Amarillo from Dumas in 1955. She enjoyed country music and was a close friend of both Jim Reeves and Charlie Phillips. She was the fan club president for Reeves from its start until he died. Then she ran Phillips club for many years. She will be missed by many. She is survived by her Stepson, Richard Lee Darnell Jr., three grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister, Dolly Hunter; nephews, Richard, Robert, and James Lancaster; niece, Brenda Camarrillo and her Honorary son, Chris Strouth. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Richard Lee Darnell; parents, Bernice and Grady Maxwell; sister, Marilyn Spano.
