Mildred “Millie” Testerman, 80, of Amarillo, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. No other services are scheduled at this time.
Millie was born June 11, 1941 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Carl and Ellen Crawford; the baby girl of 11. After graduating from Adair Oklahoma High School in 1959 she moved to Amarillo at the age of 18. She started her career at Merrill Lynch and then spent many years working for the City of Amarillo at the Amarillo Police Dept., City Hall and the Amarillo Civic Center. She went on to work for Potter County as the Asst. Director of the Tri-State Fair Exposition where she was actively involved in Potter County 4H, Caprock FFA, Mule Skinners and many other originations in her lifetime. She retired from Jack B. Kelly Companies to join her husband in the restaurant business at Butch’s BBQ.
Millie married her husband Melvin “Butch” Testerman in October 1998. She enjoyed gardening, country/ western dancing and spending time with her family especially her grandsons.
Millie is preceded by her parents, brothers, Bill, Arville, and Stanley Crawford; and sisters, Ida Graves, Mary Jane Walker and Jessie Garner.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Butch; children, Mike Goodson (Angie) of Amarillo TX, Tim “Bo” Goodson (Lisa) of Wylie TX, Tina Colbert (Todd) of Amarillo TX; brothers, Herschell (Jeanette) Crawford and Joe (Patsy) Crawford; sisters, Bessie (Wayne) Shultz all of Oklahoma and Cora Crawford of Amarillo; grandsons, Derek Goodson and Taylor Goodson (Gabby); her great-grandson, Asher Goodson; and a daughter-in-law, Carla Brown (Kevin) all of Amarillo.
