Misty Willingham

Misty was born on October 23, 1961 in Amarillo to T.J. and Cherie Koontz. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1980, before marrying Jack Willingham on March 12, 1983. She received her degree in Early Childhood Education from Amarillo College and continued her education at West Texas A&M. Misty worked at Caprock High School as a diagnostician's aid for many years. Misty was known to be a prankster. She was always quick to share a joke with others and could always make others laugh. She enjoyed reading in her spare time She and Jack have been members of Arden Road Baptist Church for over 7 years and she was a devoted Sunday School teacher for over 25 years. Above all, Misty loved being a mom. Her family meant everything to her and she cherished every moment spent with them. The family wishes to thank the faculty and staff of Caprock High School for their prayers and care as well as the medical staff for the compassionate care they gave to Misty. She is survived by her husband, Jack Willingham; son, Nolan Willingham; parents, T.J. and Cherie Koontz, all of Amarillo; brother, Greg Koontz and wife Susan of Keller; mother and father-in-law, Carrol and Janie Willingham; nieces and nephew and her beloved dog, Lucy. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Sylvia Willingham The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Stocky Lamberson Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Happy State Bank of Panhandle.
