Modene Scott

Frieda Modene Scott was born the first of five children on February 16, 1935 in Lela to Robert Lewis Griffin and Faye Pike Griffin. She entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. She attended school in Lela and Shamrock and lived in Shamrock most of her life. She married Tarlton Perkins in 1952. He passed away in 1961. She later married John Scott in 1964 and he preceded her in death in 1995. Her greatest love was for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ followed by her family. She was a very proud mother and grandmother rarely missing any event in which her children or grandchildren were involved in. Her love was unconditional. Modene served as Church secretary at the First Baptist Church for over twenty years. She was an active member of the Shamrock Hospital Auxillary as well as the Shamrock Genealogical Society. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Frieda LaDon Perkins, one granddaughter, Makala Borchardt, one sister Ann Grimes, as well as her parents. She is survived by her three sons, Glyn Scott and wife Mercedes of Mexico, Lewis Perkins and wife Vickie of Shamrock and Alan Perkins and wife Cathy of Elk, City, Oklahoma. One daughter, Natalie Borchardt and husband Brian of Vigo Park. One brother, Bobby Griffin of Shamrock, three sisters June Sawyer of Odessa, and Cleta Van Meter and husband James Earl and Neta Hickman and husband Dwight all of McAdoo; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
