Ramona was born on March 30, 1943 in Odessa to Bud and Geraldine Jones. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1961. She resided in the panhandle of Texas for most of her life, spending the last half of her life an active member of the Amarillo community. She worked in retail for over 30 years while raising her three sons that she loved dearly.

In her free time, Ramona would crochet, watch Netflix (she loved movies and shows), play with her cats (Elvis and Frodo) and was a regular at the Amarillo YMCA where she liked to swim. Nana, as her grandchildren called her, loved Elvis and all of his music, even naming one of her cats after the King. During Christmas, she would proudly display her extensive nutcracker collection and turn her apartment into a festive wonderland. She was an excellent cook and had an impressive repertoire of yummy treats. Her family will remember her good sense of humor, laid back nature and the Hershey bars she always included in her Christmas gifts.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Bud Raymond Jones and Geraldine Nowita Jones, her brother, Roy Don Jones and her sister, Marilyn Lemon.

Survivors include her sister, Pat Henry of Oklahoma City, her three sons, Bill Hopkins and wife Laura of Haslet, Steven Hopkins and wife Krista and Cullen Hopkins and wife Melissa all of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Survivors also include a host of extended family and close friends.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
