Nancy Parker

Nancy Parker, 84, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Funeral services will be 2:00 PMMonday, June 30, 2025, at the Family Worship Center, 11901 I-27 in Amarillo, with Pastor Danny Rendon officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Nancy was born on May 16, 1941, in Amarillo to Georgene and Clyde Gibbins. She graduated from Palo Duro High School, class of 1959; Nancy married her husband, Donald Parker, on September 16, 1959, in Amarillo. Together she and Donald celebrated over 52 years of marriage before he passed away in 2012.

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and caregiver whose greatest joy came from caring for others. She was like a second mom to many of her children's closest friends. A gifted cook, Nancy took immense pleasure in preparing meals not only for her family but also for those in need.

Her generous spirit and compassionate heart were evident in the countless hours she spent offering support, a listening ear, and her time to those she loved. Nancy cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, taking immense pride in her family and showing love through both words and actions.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Dean Parker; her son, Russell Parker; her uncle, Charles Barrett; and her aunt, Charlene Jones.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Foster, and husband Bo of Amarillo; one brother, Don Gibbins, and wife Jerre Lee, also of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Kelsey Parker and Alicia Hornsby, both of Amarillo, and Zackary Parker of Colombia, South Carolina; five great-grandchildren, Kelton Parker, Cole Parker, Kenzlee Farmer, Kendall Parker, and Kambrie Parker. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
