Nancy Lee Schnell

Nancy Lee Schnell, 76, of Amarillo passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Memorial Services will be held in the Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Saint Stephen United Methodist Church. Nancy was born on August 29, 1941 in Cincinnati, OH to Robert William and Dorothy Schnell. She taught at West Virginia University before moving to Amarillo in 1977. Nancy was a licensed midwife and enjoyed teaching. She retired as a Professor of Nursing from West Texas State University in 1999. Nancy enjoyed traveling, especially taking cross country trips. She was known for her great sense of humor and beautiful smile. Nancy was very loving, giving and had a big heart. She is survived by her brother, Jerry William Schnell and his wife Mandy; nephew, Jeff Schnell and his wife Suzi; nieces, Beth Schnell and Tracey Fair as well as their families; longtime caregiver and dear family friend, Brenda Hatley and numerous Pagett family members. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her partner of 38 years, Kitty Pagett. Send donations in her memory to the church she loved, Saint Stephen UMC, 4600 S. Western St, Amarillo, TX 79109.
