Nancy was born on April 3, 1938 in Waterloo, Iowa. She went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May, 1, 2015. She married Herb Shattuck on March 31, 1961 in Hutchison, Kansas. He was a pastor in the Pentecostal Church. Serving as a "Pastor's Wife", She served the Church in many roles. She was best known as the "Church Mother" where she loved working with the youth of the church as well as opening her home to her children's friends as well. Nancy was also loved by family and friends for her baking. Not only did she make peanut brittle to sell as a fundraiser for the church, but was famous for her sugar cookies. Her recipe for "her" cookies still is handed down for generations. Nancy lived her life for her Lord, her family as well as her church. She was preceded in death by her husband Herb in 2006 and by two brothers, Bill "Butch" Elliott and Johnny Martens. The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the Staff at The Arbors as well as BSA Hospice for wonderful care that they received.
She is survived by one son, John Shattuck and wife Laura and one daughter, Laurie Kemp and her husband Dusty all of Amarillo, her mother, Billie Martens of Amarillo, one brother, Jim Martens of Chama, New Mexico. One sister, Jalayn Martens also of Amarillo. She is also survived by her three granddaughters who loved her very much, Whytnee, Jordan and Riley.
