Naoma Sartain, 86, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Naoma was born July 21, 1938 in Otis, New Mexico to Charley and Eula Jones. She graduated from high school in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She married her husband, JW “Doc” Sartain in January of 1963. They raised their family in Amarillo, and Naoma dedicated her life to caring for them. She kept busy with her kids and their various sporting events. Naoma was a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for over 50 years. She was a talented crafter and enjoyed doing crochet, macramé, and knitting. She also loved to go shopping for bargains. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doc Sartain; two sons, Kent Ingram and Kem Ingram; a daughter, Cynthia Griffin; three brothers, Dean Jones, Jimmy Jones, and Harold Jones; a sister, Norma Jean Allen; and two grandsons, Justin Griffin and Clinton Ingram.
Survivors include two sons, Calvin Sartain and wife Annette of Amarillo, and Jimmy Sartain and wife Mary Ann of Lewisville, TX; 11 grandchildren, Jake Ingram, JD Ingram, Courtney Ingram, LeeAnn Foreman, Jamie Newberry, Lindsey Pohl, Brittnie Hood, Breanna Sartain, Grayson Sartain, Finley Sartain and Misty Thrasher; and 16 great-grandchildren.
