Nina Lea Mason

Nina Lea Mason, 73, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on the 9th of December, 2022. Nina was the beloved wife of Dwight Mason, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years or marriage.

Born in Amarillo on July 20, 1949, Nina was the youngest of 3 children born to Billie Ponder and Charlie Gill. Nina attended Caprock High School and Amarillo College, where she majored in psychology. She worked for many years at Santa Fe Energy and Cambridge Productions as an Oil and Gas Accountant.

Nina had a deep love for all children, especially the more troubled ones, which made her the perfect advocate for CASA. In her free time, Nina enjoyed selling jewelry online.

Nina was a gentle soul. Loved ones describe her as always calm and extremely patient. She never raised her voice, and if she ever got angry, it surely didn’t show. She was a kind, compassionate woman who loved and respected everyone she encountered. She never let you leave without an “I love you”. Nina is preceded in death by her parents, Billie Ponder and Charlie Gill, as well as her brother, Jody Malone. Survivors include her husband, Dwight Mason, sister, Sandra Browning, sons Brian Mason and Brandon Mason (wife Karen Mason), grandchildren, Kelseigh Mason and fiancé Alexander Follis, Michael Mason, Madyson Mason, Zain Mason, Taylor Mason, Addison Mason, and Khloi Dominguez, as well as a great granddaughter, Kinsley Mason.

Services will be held Tuesday, December 20th, at 1:00 PM at Llano Cemetery Mausoleum.
