Noma Lee Brown, 82, passed away December 13, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be 10:00 am Monday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Dr. Inurnment will be at Llano Cemetery. Noma was born in Lelia Lake, Texas on March 18, 1935 to Carroll and Noma Lewis. She graduated from Clarendon High School where she met the love of her life, Joe Brown. They were married in Clarendon on September 3, 1951. They moved to Amarillo where Noma started work at First National Bank. After beginning employment as a bookkeeper, Noma retired as Senior Vice President of Auditing after 33 years of service. In retirement, Noma was very active in the Women's Professional Bankers Association of Amarillo, Soroptimist International and was a role model for young women beginning their careers in banking. She was a gifted painter of fine china and pottery. Her skills and artistry enabled her to repair family china and pottery heirlooms from people all over the United States. Noma is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Leland, Floyd, Jack, Wayne Lewis; and two sisters Lanelle Lovelady and Wanda Moore. Survivors include her husband Joe Brown; her sister Carol Lane Phillips; and numerous nieces & nephews who adored her.
