Norma Long

March 6, 1941 — December 13, 2014

Norma was born on March 6, 1941 in Sunray to Ira and Oca Berry. She moved to Amarillo as a child and married Johnny Joe Long in July of 1955. He preceded her in death in September of 2009. Norma worked as a bookkeeper for most of her life, retiring from Texas commerce in the early 1990s. She then went to work at Toot-N-Totum as a stocker, where she worked for several years. She loved to gamble and took many trips to Las Vegas and Santa Fe with her husband and Cornell and was an avid bowler. Norma was a devoted member of Family Life Church, where she volunteered as a greeter for over 6 years. Most of all, Norma loved being "Granny" to her friends and family and cherished playing games and spending time with them. She is survived by her Sons, Johnny Long of Childress and Cornell Brown of Amarillo; daughter, Terri Bolton of Amarillo; brother, Tommy Berry and wife Vinnie of California; sister, Donna Eads of Amarillo; 6 grandchildren, Kim Braswell, JoAnn Porter and husband Doug, Joseph Long, Michelle Pearson and husband Josh, Cassie Francis and husband Cory and J.J. Long, all of Amarillo; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny Long; 2 sisters, Coween Phillips and Wanda Rogers; brother, Eugene Berry and great granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Pearson.
