Bobby Joe Taylor, 86, died Monday, April 29, 2019. He was born November 21, 1932 in Searcy County, Arkansas, and was a long-time resident of Valle de Oro, Texas. Bob was a member of the local Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, and was involved in raising cattle and riding horses with various groups in the area.
Bob was a strong, loving father who enjoyed trail rides and campouts with his wife and four boys; and a good, hard-working neighbor who was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Bob Taylor was proceeded in death by his parents, one brother, and a step son. He is survived by his wife Shirley, and three sons, including Ray Taylor and wife Carolyn of Wildorado, Texas; Charles P. Taylor and wife Kathy of Amarillo, Texas; and Tony Taylor and wife Amy of Amarillo. He is also survived by his sister Wanda Williams and husband Ed of Overland Park, Kansas; and brothers John Taylor and wife Mava of Western Grove, Arkansas, and Ben Taylor of St. Joe, Arkansas.
Bob’s grandchildren include Cal Taylor and wife Katy, Kisha Taylor, Emily Ham and husband Audy, Olivia Taylor, and Coby Bennett. He is also survived by great grandchildren Owen Taylor, Kate and Annie Winton, Paisley and Kasen Coble, Piper Jo and Zoey Ham, and D.J. Bennett. Bob had five step grandchildren, thirteen step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a special adopted family, Jon and Mylee Bell, and Sarah Bell.
The family will receive guests at 4235 Erik Avenue, Thursday, May 2, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the home of Tony and Amy Taylor.
