Chris Caldwell Obituary

Chris Alan Caldwell, 60, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 23, 2019. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Friday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Pastor Ronnie Ferguson officiating. Chris was born December 5, 1958 in Amarillo. He graduated from Caprock High School, and earned a bachelor of animal science degree at West Texas State University. He worked for Texas Dept. of Transportation for 26 years, until his retirement. After his retirement, Chris became a hay farmer. His greatest joys in life came from time spent with his kids, including horses, fishing, and baseball. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Brian Cooper; and a sister-in-law, Rhonda Cooper (wife of Chris Cooper). Survivors include his wife, Lanie Caldwell; a son, Clell Caldwell of the home; a daughter, Kallie Burton and husband Rhyan of Stratford, and their children, Strattan and Remmi; his parents, Leonard and Jeanette Caldwell of Amarillo; two sisters by choice, Deena Fowler and husband Mike, and Rhonda Ford all of Amarillo; a brother, Terry Caldwell and wife Terri of Fritch; three brothers-in-law, Shawn Cooper and wife Kim of Elgin, OK, Chris Cooper and Barry Cooper both of Amarillo; his mother-in-law, Beverly Cooper; a daughter, Lynsie Stocker and husband Danny and their children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
