Evelyn Stewart Obituary

Evelyn Louise Stewart, 87, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 25, 2019. Evelyn was born February 6, 1932 in Montague County. The only child of O.G. “Bud” Hardison and Audie Lee Snow. She married Carl W. Stewart on May 2, 1953 in Oklahoma. She worked as a book keeper and accountant for Diaper Jeans; Carl W. Stewart Company; and retired from the A.C. “Bub” Smith Company. Evelyn was fiercely dedicated to the love of her family and the service of others. She had an endlessly generous and giving soul. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and making her friends and family laugh at her antics. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Taylor Jo Stewart and her husband, Carl W. Stewart. Survivors include her son, Mark Stewart and his wife Heather of Amarillo; a grandson, Ty Stewart of Amarillo; and life-long friends, James and Virginia Stiles of Chattanooga, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to “Hope and Healing Inc.”, in honor of Evelyn and her granddaughter, Taylor, at 1721 S. Tyler St., Amarillo, Texas 79102.
