Patty Hughes, 60, of Amarillo, died Friday, November 2, 2018. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Dr. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Patty was born November 4, 1957 in Sioux City, Iowa to Ralph and Margaret Dandurand. She earned her associate degree as a registered nurse from Western Iowa Tech. She moved to Amarillo in 1986. She married Carl Hughes on December 26, 1992. Patty loved being a nurse. She worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital for 11 years and Bivins Memorial Nursing Home for 13 years. She also worked at Plum Creek Specialty Hospital prior to her retirement from nursing. In her spare time, Patty enjoyed drawing, and drives in the country. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Patty was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Carl Hughes; two sons, Zachary Hughes and Nicholas Hughes both of Amarillo; a daughter, Le’Ana Hughes of Dallas; 3 step-sons, Jarvis Hughes of Lufkin, Oscar Hughes of Amarillo, and Joseph Hughes of Ft. Worth; a sister, Judy Mamura of Minnesota; two brothers, Larry Dandurand of Arizona, and Marvin Dandurand of Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Jada, Auntaya, Ariana, Kavion, Jamari, Z’Arion; one great-grandson, Pierre; and several nieces and nephews.
