Oneta Marcum Weatherly

Oneta Marcum Weatherly 93 passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015. Oneta was born May 13, 1922 in Estelline TX, to James Lewis and Safronia Tucker Marcum. She was one of 10 children. Oneta graduated from Estelline in 1940 and then attended West Texas University. On August 1, 1942 Oneta married the love of her life Winfred Ray Weatherly in Memphis Texas. They resided in Parnell, where they both worked on their farm together until 1958. They then moved to Amarillo and enjoyed 73 wonderful years together. They had one daughter, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Oneta loved spending time in Pandaries, NM. With friends and family, annual Marcum/Weatherly family reunions and watching her beloved Dallas Cowboys. Oneta was also a wonderful seamstress, the quilts she made will forever be cherished by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters and a son-in-law. She is survived by her Husband, their daughter Linda Farley of Amarillo, grandson Michael Casler and wife Diana of Blanchard Ok. granddaughter Michele Speed and husband Kevin of Amarillo and five great-grandchildren Sean Bishop, Michael Speed, Megan Speed, Dillon Casler and Shelby Casler. A sister Mary Richburg and husband Lonnie of Crowley Tx. And numerous nieces and nephews.
