Pablo Reyes, 68, of Amarillo, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Trinity Fellowship Church- North Campus, 503 E. Willow Creek, with Pastor Bo Williams and Pastor Tyler Leavitt officiating.

Pablo was born April 30, 1955 in Roma, Texas to Jose Reyes de la Rosa and Emma Reyes. He graduated from Memphis High School in Memphis, Texas, and went on to earn his bachelor degree in physics and math from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Carol Carlile, on June 27, 1987 in Amarillo. Pablo worked for Pantex for 37 years, and retired as a senior scientist in 2014.

In his spare time, Pablo enjoyed sports of all kinds. He coached little league, played racquetball, tennis, bowling and soccer. He played softball on several Pantex teams throughout the years. He was an avid music buff; he loved all genres of music, from rock to classical, and everything in between. He enjoyed going to the symphony.

Needless to say, Pablo was a very intelligent man who loved to learn and to teach. He was a tutor for many years, and was always involved in the Pantex Science Bowl. He was also very active in politics; serving as election judge and delegate to the state convention. He worked with the Potter County Republican party and served on many committees. Pablo loved life and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two mothers-in-law, Caye Carlile and Peggy Johnson Carlile; a sister-in-law, Kimberly Carlile; and a nephew, Japheth Carlile.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Reyes; his bonus daughter, Emily McKay of Amarillo; four sisters, Lesvia Vela (Gloria Avena) of Midland, Juana Galloway (Robert) of Richmond, TX, Mary Shawhart (Mark), and Ruth Price (Merle) all of Denton, TX; four brothers, Candy Reyes (Helen) of Amarillo, Ray Reyes (Patty) of Denton, TX, Joe Reyes, Jr. (Claudell), and Jerry Reyes (Julie) all of Marble Falls, TX; his father-in-law, Jim Carlile; his brother-in-law, Ken Carlile (Karin); and many nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Trinity Fellowship Church- North Campus, 503 E. Willow Creek, Amarillo, TX 79108.
