Pam was born August 13, 1946 in Berkeley, California to Sherwood Scott “Jack” and Alma Lou Knight. The family moved to Amarillo when Pam was two years old. She was a proud Amarillo High School Sandie 1964 graduate and was a very proud member of one of the very first Sandie Steppers teams. She married her husband, Joe T. Jones on December 27, 1966 in Amarillo. Together, they enjoyed 58 years of marriage and raised two children, Shannon and Chris. The couple owned and operated Texas Blue Lake Pools for many years.

Pam dedicated her life to caring for her family. She took pride in her home and tending to the needs of her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing card games including bridge, spades and hearts. She was a huge lover of all things Disney, having gone to Disneyland during its opening week. Pam was very active with her kids and grandkids, from PTA to Cub Scouts, among many other things. She was a dedicated supporter of the arts, including the Amarillo Art Force, Symphony and Ballet. Her extremely special place was her own backyard, where she spent a lot of time for peace and beauty. Pam loved to travel including “road trips”.

Pam was an independent and strong woman, who led by example and lifted people up. She was an inspiration to countless women throughout her life. She had a generous heart and a nature for helping others. She would fight for people and alongside them in any circumstance. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and community.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pam is survived by her husband, Joe T. Jones; a daughter, Shannon Martin and husband Doug of Amarillo; a son, Chris Jones and wife Kerri of Amarillo; a sister, Shirley Campbell and husband Bill of Lubbock; a brother, Scott Knight and wife Michelle of Mathis, TX; four grandchildren, Haddon Martin and wife Chloe, Kel Martin, Jack Jones and Jaydon Jones; and one very precious great-granddaughter on the way, Essie-Mae Jane Martin.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Khiva Shrine @ www.khivashrine.com; or to the Amarillo High School Sandie Steppers, at PO Box 8563, Amarillo, TX 79114.
