Patricia was born March 2, 1946 in Amarillo, Texas to Rowena and Jess Altman. She graduated from Caprock High School in 1964. She married the love of her life, John Smith, on December 18, 1964 in Amarillo. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage together, raising two children, Stephanie and Brian.
Patricia worked as an insurance specialist for Dr. McCue and Dr. Weinberger. To say that she enjoyed travelling was an understatement. She and John travelled extensively to Washington DC, New York City, Boston, Mexico, and enjoyed cruising to Alaska and up the East Coast. They were longtime active members of South Georgia Church of Christ, formerly Dumas Drive Church of Christ, since 1990. Patricia taught Sunday school for many years. She was an avid reader and was wonderful with kids. She made her home the welcoming spot for all the friends of her children, while they were growing up. The kids all loved her very much.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Reggie Davis; and two infant daughters, Angela Hope and Janalyn.
Survivors include her husband, John Smith; a daughter Stephanie Underwood and husband Chris of Amarillo; a son, Brian Smith of Carrolton, TX; three brothers, Steve Davis and wife Tina, David Davis and wife Crystal all of Amarillo, and Phil Altman and wife Sandy of Longview, TX; four grandchildren, Cody Boyd and wife Brittany, Cayden Smith, Josh Kosechata and wife Rochelle, Zak Kosechata and wife Jordyn; eight great-grandchildren, Cannon Davis, Mason Boyd, Bostyn Boyd, Jaxson Kosechata, Noah Kosechata, Remington Kosechata, Ella Stokes and Kaden Hutson; special friends of many years, Chris and Jan Bradley of Amarillo; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Kailey with Interim Hospice for the excellent care that Patricia received.
The family suggests memorial donations may be made to South Georgia Church of Christ, 5709 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, TX 79107.
