Patsy "Pat" Lee (Longbottom) Barrett

Patsy Lee Longbottom Barrett, 91 passed away August 17, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday August 21, 2023 at Paramount Baptist Church with Lance Herrington officiating.

Pat was born on January 11, 1932 in Hereford to Claude and Laverne Longbottom. She attended and graduated from Hereford High School. Pat married the love of her life, Jerry Barrett on September 23, 1966. Together they shared 44 years together before his passing. Pat had a strong work ethic, she started working at 13 years old. She had a love for music, especially church hymns. Pat was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s for 41 years, she sang tenor. She really enjoyed playing golf and a nice cold beer, Coors Original to be exact. Pat was famously known for her Chinese Fire Drills. She truly loved her family and animals. Pat was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marian Goodin; Abbie Blackstock; her nephew, Brian Keith Goodin; her furbaby, Raisin; and her loving husband Jerry.

Survivors include her son, Barry Barrett and wife Christy of Amarillo; two sisters, Nan Walker of Hereford; Cynthia Hartley and husband Ed of Hereford; her brother, Bill McMinn of Waco; her special cousin and best friend Carolyn Witherspoon and husband Jack of Amarillo; her two brother-in-law’s, Calvin Goodin; Bill Blackstock; three grandchildren, Josh Wilk; Adam Barrett; Hogan Barrett. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and dear friends.
