Paul Phillips Landry

Paul Landry, 62, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Born to Wilma Phillips on May 23, 1964, in Scotland, Paul spent his early years growing up in Connecticut, a place that remained close to his heart throughout his life. He often spoke fondly of Connecticut’s beauty, especially its trees and natural landscapes, and carried those memories with him wherever life took him.

Paul was a proud United States Navy veteran, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He lived life as a true free spirit, embracing every opportunity to enjoy the people and experiences that meant the most to him. He loved riding motorcycles, fishing, golfing, playing billiards, spending time at the lake, grilling out, and gathering with family and friends. He was a loyal fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox and never missed an opportunity to cheer for his teams.

More than anything, Paul loved people. He was known for checking in on family and friends, celebrating their successes, encouraging them through difficult times, and making sure they knew someone was in their corner. Paul was everyone’s hype man, always ready with a kind word, a laugh, or encouragement when it was needed most. He genuinely wanted to see others happy and successful and never missed an opportunity to tell someone he was proud of them.

Paul formed lifelong friendships wherever he went. During his years at Amarillo Towing and later K3 Towing, he built lasting bonds with his coworkers and considered them family. He also had a special place in his heart for his fur babies and fur grandbabies, who brought him endless joy and companionship.

His greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He treasured every moment spent with them and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, friendship, and unwavering support that will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sammye; three sons, Brandon and wife Tiffany of Kingsville, Texas, Christopher of Euless, Texas, and Kyle of Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Brittany of Amarillo, Texas, and Stephanie and husband Jo of Amarillo, Texas; four grandsons, Evan of Havelock, North Carolina, Aiden of Amarillo, Texas, and Elliott and Hudson of Kingsville, Texas; five granddaughters, Annie, Emma, Amery, and Kaia of Amarillo, Texas, and Max of Kingsville, Texas; his father, John, and wife Janet of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Ed and wife Kristy, and Gary and wife Kelly, all of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Gini and husband Mike of Amarillo, Texas; 10 nieces, 9 nephews, and 19 great-nieces and great-nephews; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and countless bonus children whose lives he touched.

A viewing and visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive, Amarillo, Texas.

A memorial service celebrating Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Moose Lodge, 4200 N. Western Street, Amarillo, Texas.

Though Paul is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the stories shared around dinner tables, at family gatherings, beside the lake, and among friends. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, generous heart, unwavering encouragement, and the love he gave so freely to everyone around him.
