Paula J. Kirby

Paula J. Kirby, 79, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 30, 2023 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive with Lyndon Latham officiating.

Paula was born February 29, 1944 in Amarillo, Texas. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1962. She married Fred Kirby on March 3, 1966 in Amarillo. Paula dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was an excellent cook and baker, specializing in different variations of fudge and pies. Paula was a positive person and she didn’t like hearing anyone being talked about in a critical way. She and Fred attended Canyon Hills Church of Christ. Paula absolutely adored her grandkids and great-grandkids, and loved spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma Jean Bell and Billy Gene Bell; and her son, Jeff Coffman.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Kirby; two daughters, Shelly Mixon of Amarillo and LeaAnn Harrel and husband Robert of Elk City, OK; her sister, Gwenda Grant of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Jacob Mixon and wife Kimberly, Ashley Mixon, Justin Harrel, Mathew Harrel, and Racheal Harrel; and four great-grandchildren, Greyson, Linkolon, Penelope and Jason. Survivors also include many cousins, nieces and nephews.
