Peggy Fallin Dennis, 89, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Masonic Cemetery in Seymour, Texas, with Sidney Fallin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2026, at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive in Amarillo.
Peggy was born July 10, 1936 in Seymour, Texas to Elbert and Maude Starkey. She grew up in Seymour and married her first husband John Edward Fallin in 1955. They built their life together in Wichita Falls, Texas where they raised three children, Eddie, Corlis and Sheila. Peggy dedicated her life to caring for her family. Peggy and John had a lake cabin where they enjoyed spending time with the family. Peggy loved to fish and cook up her catch. While in Wichita Falls, she was active in church at Sunnyside Baptist Church. After John’s passing, Peggy married Arvin Hanibal Dennis and gained a bonus daughter, Mendy. The couple moved to Amarillo in 2002. They travelled extensively in their RV and were members of the Good Sam Club, where they found many wonderful friendships. They were active at Chaparral Hills Church of Christ in Amarillo.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Fallin; her daughter, Sheila Kay Tardiff; her second husband, Arvin Dennis; three brothers Billy Starkey, Jerry Starkey and Johnny Starkey; and a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Thompson.
Survivors include a son, Eddie Fallin and wife Marti of Amarillo; a daughter, Corlis Metcalf and husband Myrle of Amarillo; a step-daughter, Mendy and husband Chip Kooi of Edmond, OK; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
