Peggy Joyce Gurn

Peggy Joyce Gurn, 88, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Llano Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Friday at Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr. Peggy was born September 13, 1929 in Childress to Summie and Ollie Bennett. She graduated from Plainview High School. IN her teens, Peggy played softball for the Kerrville Yellow Jackets. She married Gerald "G." Gurn on May 13, 1953 in Clovis, NM. She was an antique dealer and travelled all over the U.S. going to antique shows. Peggy was an excellent mother, and she adored her husband. Together, they enjoyed travelling to England to buy antiques. She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Gurn; a grandson, Gerald Bird; and three brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Melody Kincaid and husband David of Amarillo, and Donna Bird of Lago Vista; a sister, Carolyn of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Danny Kincaid of Round Rock, Katrina Cantu and husband Ricky of Amarillo, Jack Bird and wife JoAnn of Lago Vista, Jerry Bishop and wife Sue of Dale, and Tracy Bird and spouse Robert Little of Leander; seven great-grandchildren, Zoie Williams, Bailey Bishop, Jordan Bishop, Gerald Bird, Andrew Cantu, Anthony Cantu, and Alex Cantu; and a great-great-granddaughter, Bentley Cantu.
