Peggy (Mcgowan) Mcnutt

Peggy McGowan McNutt, 72, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, December 12, 2022 at Caprock Baptist Church, 3627 SE 29th Ave., with Pastor Jon Watson officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Peggy was born September 10, 1950 in Amarillo, Texas to James and Marcheata McGowan, and graduated from Caprock High School. She married the love of her life, Jimmy McNutt on August 2, 1969 in Amarillo. Peggy dedicated her life to caring for her family. She and Jimmy were longtime active members of Caprock Baptist Church, since 1980. Peggy worked in the church nursery, and she loved those babies like her own grandbabies. She had a real talent for crafting and quilting. She was a gardener and loved flowers. Peggy had an amazing laugh and she will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Donald Dale McGowan. Survivors include her husband Jimmy McNutt; a daughter, Brandi Lopez of Amarillo; a son, Brent McNutt of Amarillo; a grandson, Paul Nichols; three sisters, Gayla Sue McGowan of Yukon, OK, Bobbye Allen of Austin, TX, and Debbie Howat and husband Bob of Ottawa, Ontario Canada; a brother, James McGowan and wife Linda of Fairborn, OH; four sisters-in-law, Margaret Faulkner and Edith Kirkland both of Amarillo; Lavelle Tunnell and husband Charles of Dallas, TX, and Elsie McHale and husband Tony of San Antonio, TX.
