They had three children, Mike, Debbie, and Corey and she had 2 step-children with Bill, Deanna Rhea, and Bill. After her husband's passing in 1966, Peggy married Clements Novak in February 1968.
Peggy started her professional career as a beauty operator in Lubbock. Peggy then moved to Amarillo and graduated from business school. She went to work for the Texas Highway Department as a permit secretary and then the City of Amarillo as a switchboard operator. Peggy had an incredible work ethic and she was always busy with something. After retiring from the city, Peggy could be found working at the Discovery Center or even volunteering at the hospital. She loved her time volunteering at BSA. As much as she loved to work, she loved her family more. She loved Clem dearly and they celebrated 54 years of marriage this year. Her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids were her pride and joy. Oh, the stories that could be told. She loved cookouts and game nights and in her spare time, she enjoyed painting, doll making, crocheting, and anything that kept her hands busy. Peggy was a fighter. She battled cancer more times than anyone should ever have, yet she never complained or slowed down. Dubbed, “The Legendary Peggy Novak," she was one of a kind. Her laugh was infectious, and she was always up for a good time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sister Corrine, son Mike, stepdaughter Deanna Rhea, and daughter Corey.
She is survived by her husband Clem, daughter Debbie and son-in-law Clifford Fore. Her grandkids, Shane Mitchell, and his wife Erin, Tyler Mitchell and his wife Arrika, Ashley Fore, Taylor Fore and her fiancé Matt Davenport, and Meghan Fore. She had 7 great-grandkids. Austin and Ryleigh Mitchell, Mason and Ryan Mitchell, Cambrey and Brodey Fore, and Braxton Davenport. She will also be missed by her sweet dog, Little Bit.
