Peggy Smith

Peggy Smith, 84, of Amarillo, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel with Charlie Cox officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. Peggy was born in Slaton, June 19, 1930 to Helen and Ted Oliver. She married Kenneth "Red" Smith in Amarillo on June 20, 1947. Kenneth pastored at Eastridge Pentecostal Church of God, so Peggy was always busy being the pastor's wife. In addition to being a mother, she also worked for B&F Shoes for a while.She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth "Red" Smith in 2010 and by a son, Timothy Darrel Smith. She is survived by her children, Cindy Black and husband Danny, Becky Tracy, and David Smith and wife Dani; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her brother, Bo Oliver and wife Jane; a brother-in-law, Dennis Smith and wife Georgie.
