Penny Goessling, a cherished wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, passed away on April 21, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones. A Liturgy of the Word will be said at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2026, at The Continental at Park Central in the Parlor located at 1300 S Jackson Street, Amarillo, Texas.
Penny was born on April 9, 1955, in Fostoria, Ohio, Penny spent her early years in Flint, Michigan, before dedicating her adult life to raising her family in Texas. On April 22, 2009, Penny married Leo Goessling, embarking on a life journey filled with love and partnership. She was a woman who brought light and joy into the lives of those around her. Her love for crafting and all things beautiful sparked creativity and happiness wherever she shared her talents. Her vibrant and radiant personality touched those around her with warmth and joy.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruth Vineyard; and her sister, Frieda; and her infant daughter Toyia Speaker.
Penny is lovingly remembered by her husband, Leo Goessling; her daughters Kim Crespo and her husband Anthony of Abilene, Texas; Ruthy Walker of Mineral Wells, Texas; Karla Cunningham and her husband Jeremiah of Amarillo, Texas; and Ana Wilson and husband Bob of Rochester, Minnesota; her cherished fur-baby, Sophie. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Gabriella, Mia, and Derek Crespo; Lillian and Kyzer Reynolds; Jacob, Jude, Joah, and Jayne Cunningham; and a great-grandmother to Camila Crespo.
Penny Goessling's legacy is one of love, creativity, and a sparkling spirit that touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and residents at The Continental for their love and support over the past year.
