Penny K. Howland

Penny K. Howland, 56, died Monday, March 31, 2014. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Holly Cemetery in Holly, Colo. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Penny was born June 2, 1957, in Denver to Jack and Gladys Sherwin. She married Mike Howland on Feb. 1, 1975, in Holly. She was a devoted wife and loved her dogs and horses. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Sherwin; a son, Douglas Howland; and a sister, Jackie Burns. Survivors include her husband, Mike Howland; a son, Clifton Howland; a daughter, Cassandra Hartley; three grandchildren, Leland and Josette Hartley and Colton Whitfield, all of Amarillo; her mother, Gladys Joyce Sherwin Vestal; and two sisters, Melody Self and husband Chris of Troup and Dana Frindt and husband Ernie of Addison, Ill. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
