Rachel Lee

Rachel was born December 26, 1940 to Lewis and Annie Runyon Barrett in Portales, NM. Rachel was a stay at home mom, who took care of all of the kids and grand kids and made their house a home. She made each one of her grandchildren feel like they were the "special one". She loved all of her brothers and sisters dearly, along with all of her nieces and nephews. The family pets were spoiled more than anyone. The neighborhood children always thought of her as their Granny, and her special friends, Carol and Mike and their children, were always welcomed as family. Survivors include her husband, James Rodrick Lee; two sons, Roger Miller and wife Neta and Gordon Miller and wife Ramona; two daughters Valorie Juarez and husband Rudy and Peggy Carthel; 21 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Barrett and Lewis Barrett, Jr.; one sister Edith Dawes; her special friend Carol Henderson and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her son David Lee; her daughter Mandy Lee; a grand baby and a great-grand baby; her brother, Bud and two sisters, Betty and Phyllis.
